A PROVEN APPROACH
At Fortune Academy, learning comes first. For our students, effective teaching means that learning must be dynamic, multi-sensory, and personal. The dyslexic brain learns differently, so we have to teach differently. The Orton-Gillingham Approach has endured as the premiere way to educate students with language based learning difficulties for over 70 years. Our entire curriculum is founded on the principles of this gold standard approach known as the Orton-Gillingham approach. We are accredited by the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators (AOGPE), the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) and the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS).

A PERSONALIZED EDUCATION
Students who may have struggled in a public school environment thrive in our intentionally small classrooms. With a student to teacher ratio of 6:1, teachers have the opportunity to really know each student. They are afforded the chance to better understand each students' strengths and opportunities to tailor their approach to each individual. Teachers use their expertise, gained from professional development based on scientific research of how learning occurs in the brain, to give the students the missing strategies they need to succeed in the classroom.

LOWEST TUITION RATES
We are proud to have the lowest tuition rate of any school accredited by the Academy of Orton-Gillingham. We believe its important to make a quality education accessible to as many students as we can reach. Fortune Academy also provides tuition assistance to approximately 12%-15% of our student population each year, made possible through the generous contributions of donors each year.

More than a classroom
Beyond the classroom, Fortune Academy offers a variety of clubs, athletics and activities. These offerings exist to develop our students holistically. As a school, our focus is on a student's academic achievement. But as a community, we want to challenge our students to greater personal growth. Many of students come to our school feeling discouraged, defeated, and do not possess a positive self image. So much of what we do is building confidence and courage in our students to achieve more than they may believe is possible.
