Reflection on the year 2021-22 - From our Head of School
As I reflect on the 2021-2022 school year, I am filled with deep gratitude for all that Fortune Academy represents. To its students, it represents a place where they feel valued and understood as a learner and where many, for the first time, find success in classroom academics. For our teachers, it represents a place where they can live out their passion and commitment to students in a school where they are highly valued and appreciated for their dedication. To our families, it represents a place where they feel like they are supported, understood, and heard when it comes to their student's learning needs. To our generous and faithful donors, it represents a way they can give back and be a part of changing students' lives by helping Fortune have the capacity to serve our students well with robust programming and opportunities.
Along with my sense of gratitude for the year comes a reflection of the hard work and dedication it took to get there. Thank you to the families of our students for your consistent support. To our teachers, thank you for being the backbone and heart of our school. Your dedication to our students is unwavering and unmatched. To our board and community members, thank you for supporting our school through another year of challenges and accomplishments.
One thing is sure; we could not have made this 20-year journey alone. We have done this together. I want to thank each of you for sharing your part in the history of Fortune Academy. Whether it was sharing memories, memorabilia, artwork, pictures, your time, or treasure, we thank you for being an integral part of what we are celebrating…lives that have been transformed by the education we provide.
